Privacy Policy
This Policy explains how Airguide handles personal data when providing digital guidebooks for hosts and guests.
1. Controller and contact
Airguide, a service operated in Brazil and available at airguide.digital, controls account and usage data. For questions, requests, or the privacy contact/DPO channel, email hello@airguide.digital.
2. Data we handle
We handle name, email, photo and authentication identifiers; account and subscription data; guide content such as addresses, contacts, instructions, photos and codes supplied by hosts; language and interface preferences; support messages; and technical data such as IP, device, browser, pages and events when analytics is allowed. When advertising is allowed we also handle advertising identifiers, namely the Meta cookies _fbp and _fbc and the fbclid parameter from ad links. Stripe handles full payment details; Airguide receives only customer, subscription and transaction information needed for the service.
3. Purposes and legal grounds
We use data to create and authenticate accounts, save and publish guides, process subscriptions, provide support, prevent abuse, comply with law and protect rights. Grounds include contract performance, legal obligations, legal claims and legitimate interests after necessity and impact assessment. Optional analytics and advertising rely on consent, which may be refused or withdrawn without affecting the service.
4. Host and Airguide roles
For personal data a host puts in a guide, the host determines the purpose and must have a lawful basis and inform data subjects; Airguide acts as processor under the host's instructions. Do not publish documents, sensitive data or unnecessary personal information. Published guides are available to anyone with their link or code.
5. Sharing and transfers
Necessary providers include Google Firebase for authentication, database and infrastructure; Google Places when location search is used; Stripe for billing; and import and translation API providers. Only after consent we also use PostHog for product analytics, Google Tag Manager and tools configured through it, and Meta for advertising measurement. Sharing with Meta happens in two ways: through the pixel in your browser, and from our server, which sends Meta a copy of the same conversions containing your email address in irreversible hashed form together with advertising identifiers, so both records are matched and counted once. For that measurement Airguide and Meta act as independent controllers. Providers may process data outside Brazil, including in the United States and the European Union, subject to applicable legal safeguards and contracts. We may also disclose data when legally required or to protect rights.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain data while an account is active and as needed for stated purposes and legal duties. Account deletion removes the profile, properties and public guides; old codes remain inactive technical records to prevent stale links from being reused. Logs, billing records and backups may remain for legal, security or claims periods, then be deleted or anonymized.
7. Security
We use proportionate technical and organizational controls including authentication, access rules, encrypted connections and restricted access. No system is entirely invulnerable. Relevant incidents will be assessed and notified to people and authorities where required.
8. Your rights
You may request confirmation and access, correction, anonymization, restriction or deletion, portability when regulated, sharing information, review of automated decisions, objection and consent withdrawal. Use account settings or hello@airguide.digital. We may verify identity and retain information where law allows.
9. Children and third parties
The service is intended for adults aged 18 or older and does not seek children's data. Hosts must be authorized to enter third-party data and should avoid guest data in public guides. Contact us if you find inappropriate content.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy for legal or service changes. Material changes will be highlighted in the platform or sent through available contact details. The date above identifies the current version.
