QR code for guests: where and how to use it

The most complete guide in the world is useless if the guest never opens it. Airguide delivers the guide two ways: a short link and a QR code. Each one solves a different moment of the stay.

The short link: for booking time

As soon as the booking is confirmed, send the guide link in the welcome message. That's the best moment for the guest to plan their trip with the right information in hand: check-in time, how to get there, and what to bring. A short, readable link is easy to copy and paste, and works in any messaging app.

The QR code: for arrival time

The QR code solves a different problem. The guest has just arrived, bags in hand, and only wants the Wi-Fi password or to know how the lock works, without digging through an old message on their phone. Print the QR code and leave it somewhere visible: the entryway, the fridge, or next to the router. Point the camera and the guide opens instantly.

One property, both formats

You don't have to choose. Airguide generates both the link and the QR code for the same property automatically. The most common pattern among hosts is:

1. Send the link in the welcome message, before arrival 2. Leave the QR code printed and visible inside the property, for reference during the stay

The guide changes, the link and QR code don't

One advantage of always using the same link and QR code per property: if you update information, like changing the Wi-Fi password or adjusting a rule, you don't need to reprint anything or resend a new link. A guest scanning the QR code already stuck on the wall always sees the current version of the guide.
